Star’s secret girlfriend Faye Kelbie reportedly “absolutely devastated” over his death

The Prodigy frontman Keith Flint died by hanging, an inquest heard today.

A hearing in Chelmsford that lasted just a few minutes heard the Firestarter singer was found hanged at the Essex home he had previously shared with wife Mayumi Kai.

His secret girlfriend, mother-of-three Faye Kelbie (pictured above), 43, is reported to be “absolutely devastated” about his death, according to a report today in The Sun online.

Last week it was revealed Faye Kelbie, who runs her own dermatology clinic, had been in a serious relationship with Keith Flint after meeting him through mutual friends in their local village in Essex.

The Sun reveals a friend said: “Faye is absolutely devastated. For over two years, Keith was a huge part of her life and she adored him. They split up because she struggled with the amount of time he was touring. Faye just wishes she had known the extent of his unhappiness and mental health issues – she would have done all she could to help. But the feeling is that Keith made his mind up to end things weeks ago.”

Keith split from his wife after battling with drink, drugs and depression but appeared healthy and fit before his death. He was reported to have tried but failed to get his wife to return to the family home after their split.

The short Chelmsford hearing today revealed Keith’s death was confirmed as not suspicious.

A post-mortem was carried out and a toxicology report is being prepared before a full inquest on July 23.

Fans of Keith and The Prodigy have launched a Facebook campaign since his death to get his 1997 hit Firestarter to number one.
