World’s most wanted Brit Shane O’Brien arrested in Romania

The Josh Hanson Trust announced this morning OÕBrien was remanded after he appeared in court in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Extradition proceedings continue after they began when he was arrested on Saturday. OÕBrien was put on InterpolÕs worldwide most wanted list in June 2018 over the murder of Josh. He also appeared on both the Europol and the National Crime Agency most wanted lists. Josh Hanson was stabbed in front of a number of people at the RE bar and police wanted to trace O'Brien, 31, of Ladbroke Grove, for his murder. O'Brien fled in the wake of the stabbing and was on the run with a £50,000 reward for information leading to his arrest and prosecution. O'Brien was thought to be in Holland and the United Arab Emirates before returning to Europe and was believed to be getting help to fund his time on the run. O'Brien was flown out of the UK on a privately chartered plane from Biggin Hill Airport. O'Brien was arrested in Prague in February 2017 while using fake Italian documents. But he was released before officers discovered his true identity and went back on the run. See story...

O’Brien being extradicted after worldwide hunt by Interpol, Europol and Scotland Yard for the 2015 murder of Josh Hanson, 21

Brit Shane O’Brien, 31, has finally been tracked down and arrested in eastern Europe after being on a worldwide most wanted list for the murder of Josh Hanson, 21, who died after being stabbed in the neck in an unprovoked attack in a packed wine bar in North west London in the early hours of October 11 2015.

The Josh Hanson Trust announced this morning O’Brien, of Ladbroke Grove, west London, was remanded after he appeared in court in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Extradition proceedings continue after they began when he was arrested on Saturday.

O’Brien was put on Interpol’s worldwide most wanted list in June 2018 for Josh’s murder. He also appeared on both the Europol and the National Crime Agency most wanted lists.
