Enterprise News and Pictures 25/3/19 Pic shows: Texas mother-of-two Johana Villafane, 33, who was mauled to death on Saturday by her own pitbulls. She had been visiting them at the O'Connor Animal Hospital where they had been quarantined for biting someone, Irving police report. Police revealed staff called police at around 11.45am when they found the woman on the ground with the dogs attacking her. The dogs would not let staff or police help their owner so they were both shot and killed by a police officer to stop the attack. Johana Villafane died later at Parkland Hospital from her injuries. The attack occurred when Villafane took them for a walk in an enclosed area behind the building. The two pitbulls were placed in quarantine after eating through a neighbour's fence and escaping into the neighbourhood where they bit someone. It is unknown who the first bite victim is or the severity of the injuries the person suffered. Villafane had one male pit bull and one female. The female was pregnant and was involved in both attacks along with the male. The attack on Villafane occurred outside of O'Conner Animal Hospital, where the dogs were being held in quarantine when she took them for a walk in an enclosed area behind the building. An employee found her unresponsive with severe dog bite injuries. The dogs would not let animal hospital staff, fire or police officials near the victim. Police were forced to fire on the dogs, killing them. Irving police confirmed both dogs were pitbulls. Police are characterizing the attack as a "tragic accident." Johana is pictured here on her "open" Facebook page. A photograph on her husband Rodrigo's Facebook page shows the two family pit bulls. See story...
