Uni graduate paid £450 for someone else to take her three points
Politics graduate Ayesha Ahmed, 27, of Dudley, West Midlands, was jailed for three months at Wolverhampton Crown Court today after she was found guilty of attempting to avoid a speeding fine by paying someone else £450 to take the three points.
She was caught doing 39mph and 40mph in a 30mph zone in her BMW twice within five minutes by a mobile camera van parked near her home in July 2014.
Instead of paying £85 for a speed awareness course, a £100 fine and accepting three points on her licence, the international relations and politics graduate paid £450 to a man who claimed he could use a “legal loophole” to help her escape punishment.
She claimed she was the victim of a bogus lawyer but the jury didn’t believe her story and she was found guilty of attempting to pervert the course of justice and was also banned from driving for 58 weeks.
